British BMX Hall of Fame’s David Maw Lifetime Achievement Award Category
Even today, David Maw’s BMX career and accolades would be tough to match. He won every British title multiple times in both UKBMX and NBMXA during the 80s. David also won European titles and was a three-time World Champion, with wins in Japan (1984), Canada (1985), and Slough, England (1986).
Tragically, we lost David in a car accident at just 19 years old, but his legacy will never be forgotten. In our first year (2022), we inducted David into the British BMX Hall of Fame. Along with his family, who continue to support us, we wanted to honor David’s name and legacy, so we created the David Maw Lifetime Achievement Award as a permanent category in the Hall of Fame.
Both Andy Ruffell and Scott Dick have been inducted in this category, and in 2024, we will welcome another name into the British BMX Hall of Fame’s David Maw Lifetime Achievement Award category.
