Extra BMX Action

Back in the late 80s and early 90s, BMX faced a challenging period industry-wise, with magazines and sponsors disappearing as the sport experienced a decline. Much like in the U.S., the U.K. race scene remained solid, despite the absence of the corporate money it had enjoyed in the early 80s and the loss of many media outlets. Zines and newsletters began appearing more regularly at races, ensuring everyone got their BMX news fix. These publications featured coverage created by riders, clubs, and dedicated enthusiasts themselves. UKBMX/EBA launched their own zine/magazine, which was distributed at national events. Over the years, it underwent changes in name and design, but in the early 90s, it was known as Extra BMX Action, with Nev Hollis serving as editor.
