We caught the sad news from Andy Ruffell’s social media that Tony Hoffman has passed away. Read below from Andy. RIP The Hoff.

I’ve just had some very, very sad news; “The Hoff” has passed away due to complications from the virus. Tony Hoffman was a great friend of Craig and Zoe Schofield and me since the early ’80s.

It’s hard to explain how influential Tony was in the ’80s BMX scene. Tony was a great race commentator for NBMXA, a prime mover in setting up the Professional Riders Association, and he organized some major sponsorships for BMX races and riders. Not to mention, he was also a true maverick in the sport and in life.

Most of all, however, he was our very dear friend, then, now, and forever. We will never forget his charm, wit, and loyalty to his friends. He will be sorely missed. Our love and prayers are with Linda, Bryn, and Donna at this very difficult time.

Tony, you will always be in our hearts. We will never forget you.
